CSU Director’s Update

As our 2016-17 season comes to a close I would like to highlight some of our more recent on field success stories. These are just a few examples of how our program demonstrates the hard work and dedication of our coaches and players. Please continue to share your stories so that they may be highlighted in our next Directors Update.

Palm Beach Soccer League Classic Cup

CSU would like to congratulate our GU10 Blue and BU10 Green Teams for both winning the Palm Beach Soccer League Classic Cup. The GU10 Team scored 20 goals and only allowing 2 in the GU10 Gold Division. Meanwhile the BU10 Green Team made PBSL Cup, their second tournament final appearance in a row, but this time claiming first place with a 3-2 victory over a tough Wellington team.

Both GU14 Blue and BU12 Blue Teams won the SFUYSA playoffs!! Our GU14 Team needed to win their last three games of the regular season to make the playoffs. After doing just that, they went on to beat MPS and Coral Gables 1-0 in both the semi-finals and finals. The BU12 Team was the #7 seed out of 8 teams in the SFUYSA playoffs and managed to beat Palm Beach Gardens the #1 seed in the finals. Congrats Boys and Girls!!

GU11 Commissioners Cup:

We want to recognize a team that has developed greatly and put forth a strong effort representing CSU in the Commissioners Cup. Our GU11 Blue Team advanced to the semi-finals where they fell short, but it was a great experience for this young group.

Good luck to all State Cup and Region Cup teams:

We would like to wish the best of luck to our GU14 Blue, GU15 Blue, and BU15 Blue Teams who have all advanced to the round of 16 in President’s Cup. Each team will be playing their round of 16 games on Saturday, April 8th. Quarterfinals will be April 9th the following day.

Best of luck to our BU16 Blue and BU18 Blue Teams who have both advanced directly to the second round of State Cup due to league play and will play their first 2nd Round match on Sunday, April 9th.

CSU Player Spotlight:

Our Club would like to congratulate Kristan Gamache, BU13 Blue Team, for being selected to be apart of the ODP Florida State team.

College Recruiting Seminar:

We would like to thank Cory Harbinson, Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Women’s Assistant coach for coming out and speaking to our 2004-1998 girls on what it takes to be a college athlete. Corey ran an informative seminar allowing parents and players to share their thoughts and ask questions related to the various NCAA programs. Corey will also be running a collegiate ID camp this summer…more details to follow! (photo)

CSU Coaching Staff Additions

We would like to welcome Corey Harbinson and Ria Denny and our newest additions to the CSU Coaching Staff!

Corey Harbinson is the Assistant Coach for the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Women’s soccer team. Cory will also be joining the CSU staff as the 00/99 girl’s coach for next year. We are excited to have Cory join CSU and we know the entire program will benefit from his experience as a college recruiter and his ability to prepare our players to be successful at the next level.

Ria Denny comes to CSU from Johnson & Wales University and is also the girls’ Junior Varsity and Varsity Assistant Coach for Stoneman Douglas High School. Ria also serves as a member of the ODP Coaching Staff. We are proud to have her representing CSU and look forward to her developing our younger players.
